Questions about Consigning

How do I become a consignor?

Click on “register” under the consign tab and create an account.

Is there a fee to consign?

Nope.

Is there a minimum number of items I must consign?

Nope.  We’ve had people consign one item and many consign hundreds!

How should I price my items?

Check out our pricing guide under the consignor tab, but a general rule of thumb is 1/3 the price of retail.

What should I consign?

We take any baby, child, or maternity items in good condition.  Follow the Golden Rule of Consigning:  If you wouldn’t buy it, don’t sell it!

Questions about Tagging

Where do I get my tags?

Once you are logged into your consignor account and have entered all your items, click “Print Tags” and your tags will print from your own computer.  Be sure to put them on white cardstock because this makes them scan better.

How do I attach my tags?

We suggest getting a tagging gun (best deal is about $10 on Amazon) to save you so much time and hassle!  If you choose not to do this, consignors use safety pins–just be sure to tag to the clothing item’s tag so you don’t damage the piece!

Questions about Shopping

Do you accept credit cards at the sale?

Yes! We accept cash or credit cards (Visa or Mastercard).

Do you provide bags?

Our first 100 shoppers on Saturday get a free reusable Spotted Whale tote.  Everyone else BYOB (bring your own bags)!

How can I shop before the general public?

If you would like to get on our VIP Presale List and shop Friday 7:30-9pm, PayPal $10 per person to amanda@thespottedwhale.com.  We will add you to the VIP List and send you a confirmation email.
